Is there a way to modify the items shown in the registration form and/or require that specific fields be filled in prior to accepting a new member to your forums? I would like to be able to require specific fields in the normal profile of a user to be a part of the actual registration form (i.e., birthdate, location, etc.). Is this possible?

SMF 2.0: Already a feature with the custom profile fields you can set what fields appear in the registration.

SMF 1.1.X: There are some mods for that:

Yes. I still do not know how to require a user to fill in a specific field or fields in the registration form.

Did you install the custom profile fields mod that NIBOGO posted?

I did not apply the mod as it indicated that it was a mod that would add a location field in the profile registration. Since I am trying to require that new registrants fill out the location & date of birth fields, it didn't seem to apply. There are already fields in the profile section for the user's location & date of birth. How do we get those fields to be automatically filled out based on what the user's input in their registration form?

The location field is not part of the registration page by default, hence that mod adds it.
