Hello. The email header is added "От:".
Added when the user responds in a topic, rather than creating a topic.
Your forum adds "Re:".
In general, it makes no sense to add "Re:", because in front and so is added: Topic Replay.
And in Russian, "От:" is associated with "from", so at first glance it turns out some nonsense. For the Russian language, it is better to do "Re:" than "От:".

Arantor

This form adds "Re:" because most of us are using English and it ends up pulling from our language when replying - it's baked into the message subject, not added in after the fact.

(And if you use full reply you can change the topic title entirely instead of having "Re: topic")
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

You would have to have "Show subjects in topics." enabled in Admin - Forum - Posts and Topics - Topic Settings

Arantor, DeadMan..., thank you, you solved this problem.

User2

The problem is not solved.
Firstly, it is pointless to substitute "От:", because there is already an explanatory text "Topic Replay". Secondly, the word "От" in my language is misleading, because it means "from".
Thirdly, since everything is so difficult to change on this forum, at least make "Re" instead of "От", because it is widely used in my country and people understand the meaning of this word.

User2

In version 2.1.4. instead of "От" it became "Ответ на", but what's wrong.
Firstly, it is pointless to substitute "Ответ на:", because there is already an explanatory text "Topic Replay".
Secondly, there is a lot of unnecessary text, I already have a limit on the number of characters 68, taking into account these additional texts. Now we need to reduce it by 6 characters (Ответ на). And it will become 62 characters. Now, instead of just writing a topic, I need 10 - 30 minutes to come up with a concise topic. If I leave 80 characters, the text is distorted, because there is a bug on the forum.

In /Themes/default/languages/index.russian.php find $txt['response_prefix'] and change it to whatever you want.
When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

The translation has been updated to use "Re:". The change will be in the next language file download (created once a day), so after a day you can update it in your local forum by re-adding the language and replacing index.russian.php, which should show as "different" (any local changes will be overwritten).

Sir Osis of Liver, is it possible to remove the prefix altogether, because the explanatory text already exists?
P.S. I didn't answer right away, because the notifications stopped coming again.

Sir Osis of Liver

Easiest way to do it is remove text in language file and leave empty quotes -

$txt['response_prefix'] = '';

When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

Sir Oasis of Liver, yes it works.
Is it possible to correct the text "Topic replay:"? In my language, very long text is written: "Новый ответ в теме:".

m4z

You can suggest translations yourself in Crowdin, see https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=577121.0

The translators don't watch all forum threads here.

Look for 'Новый ответ в теме:' in EmailTemplates.russian.php.  You can edit it there.
