I currently have SMF 1.0.7 and I am upgrading to 1.1RC2 using (SMF 1.1.rc2 upgrade). I unzipped and uploaded all the files and I get this message...

SMF Upgrade Utility
The upgrader found some old or outdated language files.

Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package, even the theme and language files for the default theme.

Im realy confused here.

You may get this message regarding language files you maybe do not use. For example if your forum is just in English then you may be prompted about out of date say German language files.

There is nothing to worry about as long as the language you intend to use is current. ;)

Ok I downloaded the english language pack and now my forums are messed up.

There is no text in the admin panel, theres missing text all over the forums, it says at the bottom of my forum...

make sure you actually uploaded the language files, they go in the language folder of the theme your using, make sure they were uploaded properly, (ASCII) and that the whole file really made it to the server.

i say this cause i just upgraded a forum for someone and there host just plain sux, ftp was disconnecting, and i had to visually make sure that all the file size's matched cause i was getting errors up the ying yang.
keep smiling, they'll always wonder what your up too.....

All the language files are up and still no good :(

Make sure you get the right language files for your version. You likely got the files for the wrong version.
