'boardseen' inconsistency

In the main index page, I noticed that the 'Last Popst' link showing 'split duplicates html entities' does not set 'boardseen', like all the others do.

The 'language file' link is : http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?threadid=71/new;boardseen

But the 'split duplicates' link is : http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?threadid=1013/new

That's because you've already seen the board; there's no need to mark it read again.

Ah .. clever, but the purple 'new stuff' indicator was still flashing for that board -- maybe a cache problem then?

That happens when the child of the board has a new post...

but i thought new posts in child boards are marked by making the link to that child board bold?

EDIT: oh and another thing.. if you are in a board that has a child board, and you click "Mark as read", is is also applied to the child board.. that shouldn't happen, right?

It also makes the little light flash at first.

I didn't make it that way, Compuart did... made enough sense I didn't think it should be changed back.

Would you prefer it worked only on the *current* board?  If so, it can be changed in 5 seconds ;).

I think it should work so that 'Mark as Read' does so for all child boards. they are sub-boards for a reason.

Also it is more consistent with the operation of 'Mark as Read' on the main Index .. it will be most comfortable to click the button to makr everything on the current level and all levels below it.

I like being able to click mark as read and it clears the sub boards too :)

very unlogical, because the child boards have their owm mark as read button... it is there for a reason, right?

Not to mention the case where you want to mark all posts in that board as read but not all posts in the childboards. That should be possible I think.

exactly...

Compromise... I've made it so it marks the boards read, but not all the topics.
