I hope someone can help me, i went to change the forum settings under the location for server settings then i get the following error:
Notice: Undefined index: theme_template_error in /homepages/42/d87747679/htdocs/melabb/Sources/Load.php on line 816
i have uploaded another back up copy of the total forum files, but my guess is,
if i installed again the forum is it going to fix it? or
do i have to access MySQL and change and undo what i did?

please help soon.

thank you

Is it possible to reinstall and use the same Records logged into the MySQL?

well, i got it! now i decided to upgrade to smf 5 and everything works fine except the only error i got is when i edit my profile and when i click on any of the new features like:
acccount realted settings
forum profile information
look and layout preferences
notifications and email
personal message options
i get this error:
Notice: Undefined offset: 698 in /homepages/42/d87747679/htdocs/melabb/Themes/default/Profile.template.php on line 834

the only thing that changes is that number after 'on line..#' depends on what option i am looking at from 'profiles' any idea of what is happening?

thank you,

Hmm, sounds like possibly an old template... I removed that language entry and all references to it in Beta 5.

Can you try a detailed version check?

Next to where it says "Current Version: SMF 1.0 Beta 5 Public" it should say (more detailed) - click that.

Then, your language files are old.  Please try uploading the files in:

Themes/default/languages

Again, so they show as Beta 5 Public files.

i tried that and still i have the same error.
i have upgraded the languages but i still have the same error on the profile page.

thank you i got it fixed! one more thing i dn't know if you have read a previous post i had here. when my people go and try to post their own avatar shows nothing! i checked for permission and everything that has to do with letting people use their own avatars and still nothing. what works is, i have created a folder and they send me a picture of their own, all they have to do is select i have my own picture and they have to include the path. this one works, but it gets annoying because for now i have 97 active members and what if they all what to post their pictures?! wow! so bottom line is even though i have upgrade to smf5 this feature doesn't work, the one that says 'i will upload my own picture'
could you help me in this one with your excellent advise?

thank you!

Have you checked the "avatar directory" and "avatar URL" settings?

-[Unknown]

Nitro

well i wen to to avatars and this is what i have:
avatars url: http://www.melaforum.com/avatars
avatars directory: /homepages/42/d87747679/htdocs/melabb/avatars

does that look good to you?
however i created a folder so i can save their pictures like:
www.melaforum.com/melapics/
but all pictures have to be saved manually by me! and i don't want that.

do you think i should change where it says avatars directory? i checked the chmods according to previous help from someone elese and still i couldn't upload my own avatar.

For uploading your own avatars, attachments have to be working.  Is attachments 777?  Are its paths correct?

-[Unknown]

yeah, i just checked the attachments folder and it is set to 777
now when you talk about the path, was that the path i told you before?
ok the attachments are:
/homepages/42/d87747679/htdocs/melabb/attachments
[/b] i remember now that attachments work fine, because when i place a picture in the message box and then save it, it comes up ok[/b]

I still have the same error, i was wondering if you could direct me to find a solution? i just can't keep on posting my people's avatars when the smf supposed to do it itself.
thank you

Did you check your server's GD version? GD2 is needed for uploading avatars.
