Is there any procedure to pay to have the copyright info removed?

I have a government portal and they require everything to be licensed and without copyright notices (on the front page)

thanks in advance

Nope. Show the copyright or use different software.

If you want to try emailing the project managers go ahead..but i dont think they support this anymore.

The only thing php can't do is tell you how much milk is left in the fridge.

Miyagi

seems a bit backwards... you're effectively pushing big business into using other paid solutions so they can remove the copyright jargon...  ???

This is something we are still debating. I agree Miyagi and believe we should offer a paid copyright removal for companies who are willing to pay for an unbranded board.
I'm only a half geek really...

...or use different software.

We've looked at different solutions and SMF is by far the best solution we've found to date.
The software has a very easy learning curve compared to others we've tested and it has an easy and extendable  architecture and of course a great community.

Why is it necessary to remove the copyright?

It isn't obstructive in anyway. The only reason I can see for removing the copyright would be if you want to pass SMF off as your own work....

jasont,
Your best bet is to contact us via [email protected] about this matter.  Since you are citing a regulatory reason could you please send the email from the agency in question and provide which regulation it is that requires the copyright notices to be removed.
As Grudge said, we are currently debating the issue, but your follow up would be greatly beneficial in this matter.
