Blocking old messages from new members

Hi,

I haven't seen this feature on any board system, so I didn't know what to call it in order to search for it, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating. Anyway. Imagine this scenario:

A bulletin board functions as a popular hang out with a lot of personal issues discussed and so forth. It has several boards, few of which are restricted to certain member group. Now on this board there's a girl who has just met an awesome guy, and tells about him to her online friends. The relationship advances, and she invites the boy to join the board, completely forgetting that she has been talking about him on the secret board the boy now has gained access to. OOPS!

Now wouldn't it be handy if a new member could only see the messages posted after his or her arrival. This should of course be an optional setting that can be added to certain boards (the type you share secrets on). To bring it even further it would be cool to be able to tick "show this messages to current members only" which would allow users to add more generic content to the board even as this feature would be enabled for the board.

Catch my drift?

Oh! I didn't think it would be that easy! Did it work? Where can I find it? I'm using 1.0.7 with TinyPortal still, but I'll upgrade if necessary. Our board rrreally needs this.
