How to fix width of recent posts section for Joomla wrapped forum

I use the recent posts option for my forum when the forum is wrapped in Joomla and that section (the recent posts at the bottom) is wider than the rest of the template. This either necessitates scroll bars or an incomplete view of the recent posts section. How do I go about fixing the width of the recent posts section. I'm currently using a variation of the default template. Thanks-
