find through new AND intersting postings

Hi all,

I'm confused about the choices how to find new and interestings posts, while I'd like to omit all the others.

Example: the board system holds the main group A with childs A1 and A2 and forums BB1, BB2, BC1, BC2, BC3 and C1, CC2, CC3

So the hierarchy is:

1 A
1.1 A1
1.2 A2
2 B
2.1 BB
2.1.1 BB1
2.1.2 BB2
2.2 BC
2.2.1 BC2
2.2.2 BC3
3. C
3.1 C1
3.2 CC
3.2.1 CC2
3.2.2 CC3

B, BB, BC, C or CC are no forums but just grouping levels for child forums.

When I check for new posts, I may see e.g.

* a C-Topic in CC2
* BB22-thread in BB2
etc. - all replies from all groups, always sorted by date.

What I missed:

* There's no sort order of all newer postings e.g. by group? (same applies to search results)

* There's no choice to mark e.g. 'B' as a subscribed group and have yet another option to list only unread messages from supplied groups? Logical negation would be to list all messages from unsubscribed groups, either in order to subscribe to a group or thread, or to mark all of those as read.

* There's no choice to select one of those virtual grouping levels, such as 'c', in order to mark all messages below as read?
