I am recieving a wierd error while attempting to upgrad to rc2. I take my working install of 1.0.7 and upload the upgrade files to the server, chmod and make sure everything is kosher. Then I attempt to run upgrade.php and I get a blank screen saying hacking attempt. I have tried twice so far (reloaded from my backup) and its still giving me the same error. Any ideas on what is causing it?

settings.php (and the backup) to 666

Themes and attachments to 777

Not sure, but try 755 for Settings.php and Settings_bak.php.

Also try re-uploading all the /Sources/ files from a fresh download - maybe one of them got corrupt or something.

gotsanity

fresh download of what? the upgrade package, version 1.0.7, or 1.1rc2?

gotsanity

ive tried reloading from my backups and tried reloading the whole thing over again. hopefully you mean sources from the original version because i would assume loading the upgrade files onto the server would carry over the newest sources (1.1rc2) already.

gotsanity

anyone have any other ideas? I hate to bump but this problem is still affecting me.

At minimal I need a solution that carries over my existing user database to 1.1 from 1.0.7

Yup.  That's the one I was thinking.

You'll need to remove that in order for upgrade.php to work.

gotsanity

hmmm. well... here come the fun part. any idea how to remove it manually? That or any idea what would be causing the following error message to appear when attempting to uninstall the mod?

2: Unlink failed (Permission denied)
File: /path/to/home/forums/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 910

The only part you need to remove, really, is in Settings.php.
