From the package manager I get this error;  The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

The site runs fine, I'm using smf 1.07/tinyportal v0.8.6.

Thanks

You have to manually update for that is to big for the package manager to handle. Maybe some day.

No, you should be able to update from SMF 1.0.7 to SMF 1.0.8 through the package manager.

jtf, are you clicking on the package that appears in the package listing or trying to upload the update/upgrade package for 1.0.8. If you want to update through the package manager you need to find the item in the package list that is intended for the package manager not from downloading something from SMF's website.

You all have come a long way if you can do that now. Good to know. Hope the transition from RC3 to gold will be available that way. ;) Hint!  8) ;D

No they won't be I'm afraid. And updates have always been available through the package manager for the stable version. Such as 1.0.6 to 1.0.7 and 1.0.7 to 1.0.8. I imagine once SMF 1.1 (final) is released, an update to SMF 1.1.1 will be made available in the package manager (assuming there is a need for a 1.1.1 of course)

Yes I can see it in the package manager, I click on it, then it tries, but comes back with that error message. I did use the package manager to install tinyportal, dont know why this isnt working.

It did work on my test site (1.07, tp 0.8.6) simply by clicking the link from the admin center that says: Update Available! etc.

On my live site though I get this same error msg. I have tried to have as much the same setup on both sites as possible (same mods).

Any other suggestions?

It might be the way your live webserver is configured.  Have you tried downloading the 1.0.8 update package and uploading the files to your site via FTP, then running the update script?

How is my webserver suppose to be set up, maybe I can mess around with some setting.

Start by reviewing the online documentation and then comparing server setups and looking for differences.
