LainaaThe upgrader found some old or outdated files.

Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package.

The above is what I get when I try to upgrade...I uploaded the zip file of the new release, and unzipped it in the correct folder....Any ideas on what I can do?? David
p.s.  I had no problems with the previous release...

Try uploading again, some files could have gotten corrupted during upload. If this doesn't work, try using a different ftp client.

I've tried your suggestions, and the end result is still the same...Any more ideas would be appreciated...regards, David

Are you using other languages?

From what version to what version are you trying to upgrade?

from 1.1  rc2 to 1.1 rc3

This has to be an upload problem. What ftp-clients have you used so far?
"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

DavidWFF

macromedia dreamweaver
and the c-panel on my site
I've never had this problem before with any uploads

Dreamweaver caused my a lot of trouble. You should try a "real" ftp-client, like FileZilla.

Is there an easier way of finding what I may be missing, WITHOUT having to deal with another ftp program?? David

Dannii

You can't expect us to go to a lot of work without you using a proper FTP client at the very least.

Do I need to download all 5 of the files from the page below?? David
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=21558

Dannii

Only the one called "FileZilla_2_2_26a_setup.exe"

ok, I've installed filezilla and uploaded the zipfile(and unpacked it) for rc3 again...I still get the same message as posted above...David

DavidWFF

OK, I tried something different... I unpacked  the zipfile on my computer and uploaded all the files and folders individually to my server, and that appears to have worked...Thanks for your help...David

I have tried to upload the files both separately from my client, and as a zip-file and unzip on the server (using scp by text-mode). I have uploaded the update-files and language-files several times, and still get that message. Help?

Sorry to bump but I got the same message using cpanel and smartftp to upload (did it 5 times!). However, I did have success using WS_FTP. :)

EDIT: I actually had some files that didn't get uploaded as expected although the program said it worked. Upon further inspection I found that clicking on "Server Settings" (and a few other things in the admin) gave me errors. I then checked my Admin Center and clicked on "More Detailed". This showed me that not all of my files were actually uploaded (or not updated be some other means). The directories: Sources, Default Templates, and Language Files were not properly uploaded for some reason. Clicking on each directory will show you which files are the problem as indicated in red text (your directories may vary).

I upload each of the files separately for the Sources that were not updated and they worked! No more screen errors. I'm in the process of uploading the rest of the files that were not updated and will report back as soon as I'm done. :)

UPDATE: Sorry about the double post but it worked with no errors. I'm not sure if this is a permission (packaged improperly maybe?) or a server issue... But for the record my server's using:

  Apache version 1.3.36 (Unix)
  MySQL version 4.1.21-standard
PostgreSQL version 7.4.13 - not using this tho...
  PHP version 4.4.2
  PERL version 5.8.7
  Operating system Linux
  Kernel version 2.6.9-34.0.2.ELsmp

I did a fresh install of RC3 and it work flawlessly, to my knowledge. It's just a update/upgrade thing. I did this with the same permissions...
