ie skinning problems

When i view a forum that has child boards, the forum doesn't show up and only the the child boards show up. This only happens with internet explorer. I don't know what's going on, when i try to view the source to see if the whole document loaded or not, it shows that the document is html 4.0 transitional (it's actually xhtml 1.0 transitional) and none of my html is loaded. This makes me suspect the forum as the culprit, please someone prove me wrong.

I can't show anyone it right now because it's on my localhost

it doesn't show up in opera or ie, but it does in firefox. ODD
