SMF Version: SMF 1.0.8
After I freshly install the lasted version of SMF the screen goes blank after logging in or out or do most things like profile etc.  I have heard others may have expereinced this same problem if they are a go-daddy client like I am. I have uninstalled reinstalled several times and have done it on various pc's and have the same results.  This is happening with both IE and FireFox.

I install SMF on a friends PC with my Go-daddy account and of course have the same problem.  Then I installed it on the same PC using my friends go-daddy account and SMF works just fine.  So of course I called go-daddy support. Even made them install it on my account at the support center and they got the same results so it is very delectable. However they point the finger of blame right at the SMF application and will not even look into it as a possible go-daddy problem or issue.

Godaddy's position is that it can not be a problem on their side as it's a third party's application and have nothing to do with go-daddy at all.  They say it is totally impossible to be a issue with my go-daddy account. The refused to consider the possibility that it could be a problem with my go-daddy account.  I am totally stuck and need some help to find out what the problem really is.  I am at a total lose here.  Anyone have and thoughts or ideas???

Start by comapring your friend's server setup with your own.  When you find something that doesn't match, write it down.  When you finish, contact GoDaddy and report the differences.

Well when I was on the phone with go-daddy I had m friend conferenced in and we had go-daddy compare my account against his account and they said that was no difference between the two account.  As I said go-daddy is blowing the entire thing off on the SMF application and will only investigate things that I demand that are go-daddy controled.  eg. like comparing my and friends account, and had to force them to do an installed on my account so they could duplicate the problem.  I am totally out of ides and can not get any help from go daddy.  I have seen that several others have the same blank screen issue with SMF and have asked the question.  But I have not found any post where the problem was fixed.

What did the GoDaddy techs say when you told them it works on your friend's account but not yours?

They say/said once I press the launch button that it is no longer using go daddy servers or services at all that I have am on the SMF server and it is a SMF issue and they do not support third party applications.  Why they offer it as a valued application then is beyond me if they not believe that its a good application.  Go-daddy just points the finger at SMF and refuses to look into the problem at all.

Wow. Change host - Go Daddy support is not good. (by what means you said)

Ask them what the "'SMF server" is.  It is certainly not something that we offer.  Ask them where this "SMF server" is located, who owns it, and who provides support for it.

Well I have gone around and around wiht Go-daddy about it and they refuse to look into it at all.  I have SMF on a go daddy server and an out side server as well.  Go-daddy points the finger at SMF application and SMF support points the finger back at Go-daddy.  Which to dump?  Go-Daddy or SMF...... :D

But for me at least I think I have found the problem.  Which turns out to be part a Go-daddy issue (Trouble ticket #970459) and part SMF that does not handle a HTML page when it overflows.  To be honest with you this is the only problem I have ever had with Go-daddy and their prices are much lower.  I think now I will keep them both Go-daddy and SMF.  :) 8)
