Since version 5 beta, I've had a login in problem. When you try and log in, you get a prompt for downloading PHP_AUTO_FILE which is the index file. I click cancel, and then just click the message board home button, and I'm logged in. This doesn't bother me, but it scares my members, because the fear the virus thing. I need some suggestions, idea's etc... My boards only mod is shoutbox, and I had this problem prior to any alterations of my index template.

What version of Apache/IIS?  CGI or ISAPI?

Apache/1.3.26 (Unix). cgi and perl version 5.006001.

No, I mean... is PHP being used in CGI mode or ISAPI mode?

If you give me a phpinfo.php I can tell you.

Looks like CGI from what I see.

There's a known problem with cookies and Apache/CGI mode in the last beta, which should be resolvable in the next release... but...

Why is your server on CGI anyway?  The only reason to use it over ISAPI is if you use safe_mode, otherwise it is just slower...

Well, not sure there? Its a cheap server, but they've been dependable.

Strange, I get this same problem -- it tries to download the index.php file -- but only intermittently. When I log in from my computer at work, I don't get this problem at all. But when I try to log in from my home computer, this happens occasionally (not always).
