I just recently upgraded my forums [nofollow] to RC3, and now nobody can regiser for a new account.

When you enter in your new user information, it gives the error
The letters you typed don't match the letters that were shown in the picture.

The page itself doesn't have any "type in the blurry word" field, and I don't know how to solve this.

Help, please!

Switch to the default RC3 theme and see if the problem persists.

Or turn of the "image verification" option in the registration page options.

LainaaOr turn of the "image verification" option in the registration page options.

Yeah, that's the fiirst thing I tried, but the option wasn't in there. My four options are

Method of registration employed for new members (?):
Notify administrators when a new member joins:
Send welcome email to new members (?):
Required strength for user passwords (?):

I just tried to change the registration method to "by e-mail", but it's still giving the same error.

How did you perform the upgrade?  Did you verify all of the upgrade files were uploaded and uploaded to the correct location?

I'm pretty sure I did, unless there was an FTP error I'm not aware of.

I was looking into a solve on this thread, but I'm wondering if there's a way to just remove the image verification entirely in the register.template code.

citrusmirakel

Okay, clearly I screwed something up during the upgrade. I re-installed admin.template.php and the "disable visual verification" checkbox was right there.

Thanks for the help.

Syndel

Cannot see the letters either. Had to turn off the visual verification thingie.

The same happens to me. The problem is solved if I switch to Default theme.

I wanted to deactivate that option but it doesn't appear in registration page options.

I'm also using RC3.
