G'day,

Firstly, I know NOTHING on PHP or editing files.....  And need help

I voluntarially run a site called Aussie Firefighters.

I run a Forum, and until recently it was running 1.0.7 and was stating to upgrade to 1.0.8

When I would click on "Upgrade your forum"  I get the following error.

An Error Has Occurred!
2: unlink(/home/ausfire/public_html/forums/Packages/temp/install.xml) [<a href='function.unlink'>function.unlink</a>]: Permission denied
File: /home/ausfire/public_html/forums/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 910

After seeing this error, I loged into Cpanel, and then Fantastico.  Fantastico had a Auto Update as it said that SMF was out of date.  I did what Fantastico stated, and now the forum has gone back to 1.0.5

Does any one know what to do?  Please help me.

I don't know.

I have no idea what I am doing, the main ADMIN page, there is a box in red saying to upgrade and I get an error when clicking.

I have taken a screen shot of the Admin Panel.

It is located at

http://www.aussiefirefighters.com/screen.jpg

As you can see it is in RED under the Administration Centre.

When I click on update your forum it looks like

Have you tried using the upgrade package?

For the reference, fantastico is out-of-date; most of what it offers is still up-to-date :P

Are there any Instructions, if so can you please post a link.

Thanks

Concerning the Complete Database Backup, is that done through cPanel with the MYSQL Thingy or is going to

Admin > Forum Maintenance

Then clicking on

Save the Table Structure
Save the Table Data
Compress the File with Gzip

And then downloading.  Is that downloading the database???

Also with this, does this backup all Posts / Forum Layout, and probably most importantly Members Login Information / Stats / Details etc?

The database includes everything except your layout since the layout is php-powered :D
