No Images after Upgrade

Hi

Can someone PLEASE help me. I have just upgraded to the latest version with the updates but now none of my attached images show in any of the posts.

I have checked and they are under the "attachments" directory but on the forum they just show up with red X's

Thanx - I ran the repair_settings but it made not difference. I tried to attach a screenshot for you but see that I cannot include screenshots.

I can email the screenshot for you - basically it shows the message and by the attachments it just shows an X (Red X) - Some of the other images are showing fine - the newer ones does not show

Links to images on another server works, just some local images that does not display

All my packages are missing as well....

Under packages it does not show anything. When I tried to add one, it said "Package already exist on server"

I had a look under the packages directory and they are there.

Would it not be better to do a clean install ?  Would I be able to just re-link the tables in my database without the loss of any data - Especially my user data ? Would that allow my images to show again (Are the images stored in the MySQL database too?)

I can also now not upload any pics any more. This is an 18Kb Jpg file.

I get the error :

Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

InternetiX, you might check the permissions (CHMOD) on your attachments directory.

Can you check this off:
Admin > Attachments and Avatars > Display image attachments as pictures under post

I think thats what you are talking about.

On this board I have all my avatars etc. On my other board they have gone missing

Permissions on the folder :

Administrator - Full Control
Interactive - Read, Execute, List
Internet Guest Account - Read, Execute, List
System - Full Control
Network - Read, Execute, List
Network Service  - Read, Execute, List


These were the permissions that was on before the time and after the upgrade so it has been working fine with the current permissions.

Ok - Out of mere desperation I removed all the user rights from all my directories that host forums.

I then re-created all the user rights and most of my functionality has now returned and most of the forums are back to normal. I however needed to copy a number of images from my server to my local computer, remove them from the server, rename them on my computer (the names are encrypted) and re-upload them to my forum.

Dunno why it happened but at least I can now get all my stuff back to normal.
