Misleading links

SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
After upgrading to RC3, it seems my url links have gotten weird...

not sure if it's a corrupt mod or what. I removed all the mods except the latest shoutbox and it's still the same.

i.e.

posting url scenario

a)  post  ->  hxxp:www.whatever.com/ [nonactive]

after posting everyone sees it as a blank post. you are unable to click on anything,
there's no words at all. just plain blank.

b)  post -> www.whatever.com   or hxxp:whatever.com [nonactive]

you can see the link but when you hover the cursor over it or click on
the link itself, it goes back to the forum thread (i.e.   hxxp:www.forum.com/index.php?topic=61.0 [nonactive] )


any ideas why this is so?

Have you tried Repair Settings.php? - http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?thanks;filename=repair_settings.php

i did the repair and everything was set correctly...  still the same problem...

whatever.com is getting a few hits, may we see the "real" url?

same here...  i think it's coz one of the mods i installed...  might have been the one that prevents guests from seeing links if they are not registered... that's my guess anyway

Its possible that mod is causing problems.

Can you confirm your paths in your admin > 'Server Settings' matches those in your Settings.php file please.

i've already removed all mods now except for the smf chat...   i'll double check your suggestion ... thanks a bunch!
