SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Hi!
What a good job!

I've a problem with installation.
I've created a database on my host, hence I run install.php file to complete the installation. but when I fill every field with the correct data, the following message appears:

The installer was unable to access the "smf" database. With some hosts, you have to create the database in your administration panel before SMF can use it. Some also add prefixes - like your username - to your database names.

How can I solve the problem?
Thank u in advance

so you have a:

host name: sql.avianoland.com [nofollow]
user name: xxx
db name: xxx
password: yyy

User name and dbname are the same

Everything is possible...everything.

sawz

perhaps the db name is prefixed with your user name?

no... :( it doesn't work

I tried:

host: sql.avianoland.com [nofollow]
MYSQl username: xxx_xxx
MYSQL PW: yyy

but I got this message

Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.

If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Access denied for user 'xxx@'111.22.333.444' (using password: YES)

What do u think? Could it be a host problem?

I don't know why, but now it works and installation 's complete!
Perhaps it was a little error of my hoster, don't u think?

Thank u sawz! :)
