Boardindex or index ?

Which one of these control the way the board is laid out, like how high or low the forum is set?

index.template.php controls the main attributes of your forum such as the header and footer and wrapping of your forum. BoardIndex.template.php is just for the main page (Board Index) of your forum where all the boards are listed.
