proftpd help

I have mastered SMF but getting a ftp server to work in Linux is driving me nuts! Would someone be able to share a proftpd.conf file with me that would 1) give me permissions to write to the forum directory 2) make the forum the default directory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
