I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I've done a search and I get lost in the results so I thought it best to post a fresh and hope it gets moved to the correct thread.

Basically I have the latest version of SMF and I want to upgrade my version of YaBB. There doesn't appear to be any instructions on how to do this with the download so I don't know if I upload over the existing directory or if I need a new directory - do I tell it which database and folder location, etc. or does it auto-detect?

I reckon I've missed something dead easy on the site but I can't find it - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Its safe. You can make backup database with install script. There are instructions http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=6832.0

Being the brave soul that I am, I just made a complete seperate copy of my boards in a seperate location, and applied the upgrade with zero hitches.

Then tossed it on the live site and worked wonderfull as well.
