well firts of all simplemachines does not do free message board hosting as proboards does it only provides you with software. So if you want to use this software you will have to get a hosting account with

MySQL and PHP.

There are a few free hosts, but I would not really recommend any opf them.

I think www.boardnation.com offers free smf boards, and they as far as I know install them for you. That would be the other option.

Yeah www.boardnation.com is like Proboards but uses Simple Machines. Though space is limited with Boardnation meaning you might have to wait to get a board.
