Using the most current release of SMF -

SMF Package SMF 1.0.8

I go to themes in the SMF site, they have versions like:

1.1 RC2
1.1 RC3
1.0.6, 1.0.7, 1.1 RC2

Which can i safely and easily use on my forum? im well confused! :D

Can some1 explain to me what all this RC1 and RC2 business is?

and can i use themes from lower versions like 1.0.7 and 1.0.6 without too much problem?

H

Any themes for the 1.0-.1.0.x versions should work fine on 1.0.8 ;)

Any for me to be aware of that definately dont work?

versions i mean, not specific themes.

Thanks for the reply :D

Use 1.0.x themes on 1.0.x forums, and 1.1.x themes on 1.1.x forums :) Its very simple. Just match the numbers. If you're not sure, ask the theme's author.

ok cool, as i said im a bit of a freshman when it comes to this, and the fact that all themes were listes with only 2 digits (1.1 or 1.2 etc etc) and the boards themselves have 3 digits (1.0.8 or 1.0.6 etc etc) is enough to confuse me :)

Also the whole Release Candidate gumph, whats that about? lol

Im just easily confused i guess, and dont understand why so many different versions are floating around.

Kwestion

what is the default theme here? i dont appear to have this theme on my board? is it available?

Dannii

It's called Core, and it is only in SMF 1.1 RC2 and later.
