YABB 1.5.5 to SMF 1.0.8

I'm still using YABB 1.5.5 for my forum at http://www.qd-race.com/forum.

I'm going to convert to SMF ASAP. Just got question:

I downloaded the installation file from: http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_1-0-8_upgrade.zip

<Upgrade package from YaBB SE 1.5.5 or any lower version of SMF. Contains English only, download any other languages below.>

I refered for converting doc and ask me to download the converter file at: http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?thanks;filename=yabbse_to_smf.php

<Convert YaBB SE 1.5.1 or higher to SMF. This is an alternative to an upgrade, and allows you to keep your old YaBB SE without modifying it.>

Do I still need to converter file cause the installation file already stated upgrade package from YABB SE 1.5.5?

Please explain cause I don't want to make mistake for 5 years old database.

First, make a backup of the database. You should be doing this as a normal thing. Also backup the files.

Now, you have two options. You can do a clean install, and use the converter script. This requires you install into a new directory. The other option is to use the upgrade download and upload the files over the existing YABB SE install, and running upgrade.php.

I think better for the second choice. Can I delete all old YaBB SE files in folders before uploading SMF files? Or the upgrade.php will do the cleaning work.

The upgrade will not replace all the files, you copy over the top. If you like keeping things clean, you can always delete all the files (except Settings.php and Settings_bak.php) and upload the contents of the install package up.

2. Delete all files and folders except Settings.php and Settings_bak.php

4. Install

I have a problem when changing user profile: http://www.qd-race.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1;sa=forumProfile like to change the personalize picture. When I click "Change Profile" button, it will goto: http://www.qd-race.com/forum/index.php?action=profile2. Nothing happen, like the database is not save with new data, blank page. No change has been made.
