Hi

Just a newbie and I have tried to work out the answer for this from previous post but am having trouble.

I have SMF V1.1.4 installed. Have uploaded and installed Gallery Lite V1.8.1.1 on the default theme. It installed ok and redirected me to the controls but still no meu button. When I leave the control screen I was redirected to I cannot get back. Nthing in admin for gallery

I uninstalled and reinstalled same problem. What have I done wron?

Exactly the same problem here, no errors by package manager. I also installed Dutch language pack and the Gallery Controls page changes to Dutch after that, but no links in menu or admin bar ...
All other packages installed without problems (ad management pack & TP, both dutch versions)

You would need to query the database to do that.

Hi all, and sorry for my bad english... i'll try to explain my problem.


I installed this mod perfectly, and make the necessary changes to use it in spanish. The mod works perfectly on the default theme on both languages.

But I use the Dilber MC theme, and... on this theme, the SMF Gallery mod works fine, except the "GALLERY" button on the forum index (where you can see HOME, HELP, PROFILE, CALENDAR...). Using Dilber MC theme, the GALLERY button disappears.

¿How can i show this button on the Dilber MC? ¿What modifications are needed on Dilber's index.template.php?

Almost all mods only install into the SMF default theme...other themes are termed custom themes and will need you to manually install the mod into them...

OK, i solved it.

simply adding this code below of "// the [member] list button" code in Dilber's index.template.php

With this, SMF Gallery works fine on Dilber MC theme.

When you say "installed OK" do you mean no errors/fails were shown by the Package Manager...it any are shown the safest solution is a manual installation. From the rest of your post...no nav bar menu...no admin etc it sounds as though the mod is not fully installed and I'd still like you to check the CHMOD settings and use the Installation Options to get them all right.

You may then need to follow the process of a manual installation and check to see that all edits the mod makes and all files it adds are properly in place...see my post #1096 above for details.

Found the problem.  My server setting panel was greyed out. I fixed that by adjusting the setting to 666 and then made the language English not English -Utf8.  Hey presto I have a gallery button and everythings is fine. Thanksor your help

I finally got the Dutch version working, but it gives one strange "error", in that way that I can't see all the fields in the settings screen. See picture attached.

Can somebody please send me a picture of the English version of that screen to see what fields are missing there?

You are missing some language strings check out modifications.english.php for the complete list of gallery text strings

Somebody told me that exact same thing yesterday in the Dutch forum.
Nope, modifications.english.php is 100% identical to modifications.dutch.php ! (except for the language of course)
Same number of strings ...

Can someone please send me the ENGLISH screenshot of that settings screen?

Try looking at Gallery.english.php particularly lines 121 to 123 inclusive where the missing strings, which relate to SMF shop are to be found. If you want to see what it looks like in a forum set to English language why not use a test forum set up in that way?

when i want to apply the mod then always this error comes:

1. Execute Modification smfgallery.xml Modification parse error
2. Execute Modification - Modification parse error

Problem solved!

There were 11 text strings in total that were not copied into my Gallery.dutch.php file. I just copied the English version of those strings for now, will worry about translations later ...

Once you have tried to use the Package Manager system to change the CHMOD settings of your files do they in fact change to 777 or 775 (depending on the details of your hosting?) If you aren't able to change the CHMOD settings of your files it is a problem your host will have to rectify using CHOWN...you can't do that for yourself.

Don't want to get off on the wrong foot here.  This is a very big community and I am excited to stumble across it.

In using the theme "mysticjade" with TP and gallerylite.  I am having the trouble getting a gallery button to show up.  I'm sure that since I am having this trouble many others are.  So could anyone point me in the right direction on this?  I seem to have tried everyting I know on how to get this to work.

hello there.

i noticed that under each picture in the gallery where comments appear , last post comes first (order of comments display is new to old). is there a way to reverse that so that it shows first comment first (order old to new) ?

one more thing/question ! i know there is no notification for new comment in pictures of the gallery but could it be that when a new comment is made the member that posted the picture gets a new pm notifying him/her that a new comment has been posted in one of his pictures ? or a popup ? some kind of notification anyway !

i have this kind of problem: my gallery works fine i mean uploading and menagment but... there are no pisc visible!!

no mini images, no full images. directory is chmoded to 777, plenty of space and nothing.
