Need advice on graphics and banner ads in the forums

I have the forum software all setup but I want to add advertiser banners and such to the left, right of the forums and also within the posts. How the heck do I do that? Not sure if I want to use portal software or not. I'd like to keep things simple. Also, how to I control the over all size of the forum if I want to integrate it in with a web site?

BTY, I'm not a programmer. I tried an ad mod I found here but can't seem to make it work properly and I also tried Tiny Portal but it seems more trouble and time than it's worth. I just want to place some hot linked image files to advertiser around various places in the forum. It is possible?

did you check the appropriate boxes so the banner(s) will be displayed?
there are many display options.

Yeah, I had a different theme installed and it only works with the default. Too bad really.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to change the main graphic header in the forum?

it will work with any theme, you just have to do some editing is all.
