SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Hi all,

I installed 1.1 RC3 on new server and imported old 1.1 RC2 database in it. Everything works OK except  one very annoying thing. Administrator and global moderator login works, but login for regular members doesn't

It gives me wrong password error, but if I type same password again in goes through. Totally weird.

I'm clues what to fix or where to search for...Do you have any clues?

Some further info:

- what works:
a)
-regular member username 1 word ("this"), one word password - works
- old admin username (imported from old database) with 2 words ("like this") with 1 word password

-what doesn't work - it works in a second try :(
b)
- regular member username (imported from old database) with 2 words ("like this2"), one word password - doesn't work
- every new registration with 2 word username.
But for is it is essential to  use 2 word username, because we ask user to register with their full name and surname and help to strengthen credibility of forum discussion.

Additional info:

- security_mod isn't installed on server

- I modified some template and language files but don't know if this could be the issues.

- used repair_settings - no help

- used upgrade.php - no help

i need all help i can get...thank you

Your help is really appreciated, forum is on line, but users cannot login. Bummer :(

OK,
found the problem, just don't know how to fix it :(

If user has some language specific characters in his/her username it takes 2 times to login.

Would someone be so kind and tell me what encoding differences RC3 has brought. For my forum I need complete UTF-8 encoding and working Slovenian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenia special characters (č, š, ž)

Where can I change encoding of the login page?

Thank you

jerm

To convert to utf-8 you go here:
Admin > Forum maintenance > Convert the database and data to UTF-8

Call me stupid, but i dont have this option..

all I have is:
Maintenance
Forum Maintenance
Generate Reports
Forum Error Log

and under Forum Maintenance:
- Forum Maintenance - General Maintenance
- Forum Maintenance - Backup Database
- Forum Maintenance - Remove Old Posts

that's all...I have RC3 but I imported whole RC2 database to it. Could that be a problem?

jerm

The answer is in your other post. Please don't post the same problem over and over again
