RC3 + Database Import from RC2 ?

Hi,

i probably find some answers somewhere in this forum but since its so many posts, it would take forever, so I hope you don´t mind if I ask you guys about a situation i am not sure how to do.

My old Forum (rc2) has quite some mods installed, and since i am not so experienced in all that, I am afraid a update to rc3 would maybe mess up my forum. So, I had the idea to make a fresh install somewhere else on my Server, different folder, new Database, of rc3.

Before that I would backup my DB from the old Forum. And there is my first question, where are the mods that I have installed, in the database ? So maybe if i could filter them out before the copying of the Database to the fresh installed rc3, i could have all the stuff put in from the old database, except the Mods, which some I am sure will not work on rc3 anyways. So where are the mods in the DB, and would it work, if i just don´t backup them as well ?

After that, theoretically after I would copy the backuped DB to the fresh installation, overwrite the maybe just created DB tables of rc3, shouldn´t it work ? That way i coud first test it, so I would not mess up my original forum, til I am sure it would work that way, without Problems if possible.

Anyone a idea if this works ?

First get backup  from your database
I think you should  upgrade your forum 1.1rc2 to rc3 ! ( no fresh installation )
Your mods wouldn't work on 1.1rc3  but you don't miss your mods . Then you can install again your mods and move data of your mods from backup database to your forum !

Thx, but I got it already working. Like i posted above, works fine. I installed most of the mods from before in their new version and all is fine.
