Adding a sidebar to my forum

I'm redoing my forum and I need to add a sidebar to match it up with the rest of my website. To give you a better understanding check out my website: hxxp:clanstl.com [nonactive] and then check out my forum hxxp:clanstl.com/forum/index.php [nonactive]

Basically, I got it as far as it is there... but it won't go down any farther. I'm assuming it's because I put it in the first table (menu_contact.jpg is the image) that it won't go any further than the bottom of that table:

Here's the thing that really gets me. I tried to put a table around all the other tables using one row and two data blocks, one for my menu and the other for all the other content, but that made it come up with an error and I had to upload my backup. Does anybody know how to help with this?

Basically I'm trying to get it to look like this hxxp:clanstl.com/contact/forum.html [nonactive] without the stupid iframe in there... can anybody even give me a hint? Thank you ahead of time.
