Is SMF moving towards becoming the Site User Management solution?

Broad examples:
1. For sites where the user interaction/submission area is limited to the Forum (so to speak), SMF is the Only User Management System needed. - vs-
2. For sites with subscriptions, affiliates and user interaction/submission outside the Forum (links, articles, news, directories etc) - two User Management systems are needed.

Input? Discussion? Thanks!

No it's not, but with mods such as TinyPortal that would be possible.

And SMF has been getting better and better along with the available mods and themes every day.  ;)

Thank you for your responses.

re: TinyPortal
I'm not familiar with TinyPortal. I just took a gander, & there are no downloads available. Last v. for 1.0.1.

Any idea if/when there will be an update?

re: SMF getting better
Exactly!  :) We've been using CB. But whilst SMF keeps leaping forward, CB has stayed pretty much the same. As SMF becomes more comprehensive, we're disabling more & more CB functions. There's really not a whole lot of benefit to even using CB anymore. But CB does have a few perks we need.

But to maximize CB & SMF, it requires Users having two profiles. That, is the main thing I don't like & it's confusing for Users. Hence, the enquiry.

EDIT: danged keyboard can't spell  ;)

You can look into TinyPortal on its own site: www.tinyportal.net/smf .
