Have to hit reload to load next page (button issue maybe?)

Ok vague it may sound, i have a fresh install consisting of

smf 1.1 rc3, (smf)
tp 0.9.5beta (tinyportal.net)
smf gallery lite (smf hacks)
karma pack 0.3 (smfhacks) - disabled as precaution as wont uninstall
staff page (smfhacks)

all are up to date and working fine.

(still in construction but open)

THE PROBLEM

whenever i hit a button that does a major task like (change theme in admin) it hangs loading, does nothing i have to manually hit the Refresh / reload on my browser (firefox 2) and tested with (ie6 / 7)

I have the same host for my other website: hxxp:vibe.freehostia.com/forums/ [nonactive] and have no issues with any lag, database errors or hanging load times.  Can someone please help

SOLVED on another server, same problem but i found it to be FTP acess settings in the package manager keep a look out for this one
