Somehow, I feel that..I haven't done a great job on my forum..I need advice, if possible.

Well I can only see one real mistake, and that is that you have way too many forum sections for a new forum, this makes the forum look empty. Maybe bunch the similar forums together, so your forum looks full, and then as it grows maybe expand out upon member demand.
