Compatability

Hi there.
So... I've installed SMF v1.0.5 at first. This was my first collision with SMF.
Then I set up a properly working forum... but... most of the themes was for 1.1 RCx and I didn't knew for the two parallel versions.
I saw several nice themes for RCx but I have to modify the template and the forum to enter some compatability between SMF 1.0.8 and Theme for SMF 1.1 RC2. Variables and all other are differend. Language files are differend, too and my translation was invalid in SMF 1.1 RCx.

I want to ask about the compatability between these two parallel versions of SMF, if exists... and which one is the newest one?!

The newest is SMF1.1RC3.
So most themes are made for that version and won't work with older versions.
Also older versions of themes won't work with 1.1RC3.
