I've a Yabbse 1.5.4 forum (modified with the supermod moduls) and want to upgrade. But the description of the smf-1-0-5betap says it is for version 1.5.5 - can I use this upgrade anyway?

And if I upload the new smf files - should I upload it in the yabbse-directory (and overwrite the yabbse files) or should I make a new directory special for smf?

Thank you so much for hints!!!

You should have no problem upgrading from supermod. I believe many people have done so in the past. Just overwrite all the old files, and then run upgrade.php.

Here's my two cents worth about converting from SuperMOD (I was sort of a developer there for a little while):

The following will not be converted:
Sub-boards (you'll have to re-configure those)
Custom themes (someone can convert them for you)
Custom smileys (you can add them yourself but the "More Smileys" popup window is coming in the next version)
User-selectable censoring (users will still be able to choose whether or not to leave words uncensored from their profile if you choose to let them)
Global Moderator/Moderator permissions (you'll have to set those yourself)

The shoutbox and integrated chat features are both available as mods for SMF.

Great and very, very quick help!
Thank you so much - all things worked fine!
(I was afraid because my Yabbse-Forum had 100,000 postings).
Wonderfull!!!
