Feature Configuration (Mail)

in this section got 2 mailer. one is PHP(default) another is SMTP. so which one should i take?

o hv tring PHP. after that i testing register new member with gmail account. it works and receive mail from my forum. but i try using yahoo mail register. it's not works, cant get activation mail from forum. why?

when i switch to smtp. both email not work.

somebody help me!!!!!!
