Is There a Visual Authentication Feature?

Hello.

I'm using version 1.0.8 and was wondering if there's a Registration option I could enable.

I'd like, if possible, to require the person registering to type in an authentication code that appears in the registration screen.

You probably know what I'm referring to...a small box with oddly-shaped letters and numbers that the user has to type in.  The purpose of it is to prevent potential spamming.

Is such a feature available?  If so, where in the administration panel is it?

If it's not available in 1.0.8, is it planned for a future version?

Thank you very much.

For 1.0.x there is a mod. It is a default feature of the 1.1 line.

LainaaFor 1.0.x there is a mod. It is a default feature of the 1.1 line.

Thanks for the information.  A quick follow-up question:  As I understand it, 1.1 is in Beta now, and not general release.

Is it possible for me to set up a test bulletin board, using 1.1, that does not affect my current board, which is 1.0.8?

Or, can I update my current board to the Beta version, and roll it back at some point, if (for some reason) the Beta isn't stable, or if I just want to roll it back until the General Release version comes out?

Which would you recommend?

Thank you!  Jd

You can't believe how stable 1.1 is. It is not beta, it is the third release candidate. 80% of users seem to use it, and it is pretty stable to use for any purpose.

I got the verification feature installed on 1.0.8.

Now, I just have to figure out how to install 1.1.   Thanks for the input!  Jd
