showing "new topic button" while not login

first SMF is great simple and powerfull, nice layout and easy ...overall two thumbs

i've been doing some test but i found that i must login first to posting, that's ok. But i found something different with some others forum software. That is when i was not login, i can't found the new topic button.

is it possible to see those buttons, even we are not login yet ? because it's common understanding for users.

Because users must see it and click it and then they realized that to make a new posting they need to register or login first.

How is SMF supposed to keep track of the threads you've read if you don't login?
