Well, SMF is one of the Best Forum service providers looking out vB. and yes its  Effective,Powerful and more over Free.Got lot of supporters and Team People who are willing to put in there help and money. But cant SMF suppoort a reputation system.One which can replace karma.well smf can say we dont want to make things with are like other we want to be different so lets use karma. buh the question is we folks can surely man something better then the reputation system in vB.well lets see the view of the public and i hope SMF staff dont close this thread.

I made this request long time back, no one is going to listen...Whatever you say, answer s "It slows down yr Forum", i don't know how vB is offering without decrea it speed, think, bit faster than SMF....Just a sugges to developers

the reputation system doesnt decrease firstly and yes i know the smf staff wont support this coz they still insist on using karma which is soo sick. let see if any mod/ code writers are willing to put in hand.

nitins60 - I'm sorry you disagree with the comments about stuff "slowing down the forum" - but often this is the case. vB is not exactly the worlds fastest forum software (Although I certainly don't think it's badly written - far from it) - there is however no doubt that if you stripped all the "excess" features from vB it would probably go twice as fast - same is true for SMF.

As I often say - this request isn't necessarily a bad one - and I know a lot of people would appreciate it - and infact for this particular request speed is not really an issue. However  - it's not on the roadmap for the next version - why? Simply because in the grand scheme of things it's not as high priority as some of the other items which we believe will have more users - post moderation, advanced groups, custom profile fields - things like this have a much larger following and hence beat it in priority.

I take exception to any comments that we don't listen to the public here - a huge amount of features SMF has is a direct result of suggestions in these boards - and these boards do help give a perspective as to how much people want things. However, as developers we have a responsibility to all SMF users to ensure we don't add things detrimental to performance of SMF - hence why things like the arcade mod would never make it as a feature!

yes i understand, if smf try to snap in all the best features in to one version then what will they put in the next version?? but i think modified karma feature is something all have been asking for a long period now.indeed features like post moderation, advanced groups, custom profile fields does beat the priority of the modified karma feature.well i repsect the smf team for there hard work and the best feature the put in.Lets hope in one of the coming up version we have a reputation system, customable warning interface/us ( which can warn user according to the number set by the admin and after the last warning the user get banned),password board. etc
