Can it be reversed?

e.g I would like the menu to appear in the wrapped version at one point, but not in standalone...

The reason is, I have created a basic template for Joomla users and I would like to add that function to it...

The alternative is, How hard would it be to create a menu array that reflects that in SMF from the Joomla menu...ie. create an SMF menu (all of it, switched, options, members url) in Joomla...?
