Yeah it is a bit of a trick. I just saw that a lot are wondering how to get visitors and such. Yet they still don't seem to want to link.  ???

I've been wondering how long it would take to see a topic for link exchanges...

...I'm up for trade links, have been for almost two years, and do so continuously.

Check this out and let me know if you're interested.

I'm looking for reciprocal link exchanges and your site must be somewhat relevant to the content on mine.

I think one of the main assumptions one must understand before embarking on such a "link swapping" adventure is to realize that people are, for the most part: (1.) Lazy and that (2.) They will rarely do anything outside of the scope of their self interest.

I'm not using "lazy" in a moral sense. I'm using it in the sense of "path of least resistence," "something that doesn't make great mental effort to accomplish," and "worthwhile only if it doesn't take too much time to go out to the way."

Therefore, to pull something like this off, the entire concept of it has to made as easy as possible to accomplish. Also, in terms of my second point, if people decide to put forth the effort, it must benefit them in some way. Most people, especially in an internet culture, rarely do anything at all if it doesn't benefit them themselves first and foremost.

Take posting a question in a forum as an example. It can be a question on any forum. The questions can be "How much money do you make using advertisements?" which can be reworded as, "Help me make more money.." another type of question goes like, "How can I get more traffic?" which translates to, "If you've done something to obtain more traffic, share what you did with me so I can duplicate your results." There's nothing wrong with these questions. After all, that's why we're a community. Good and positive responses to such questions, usually generate some kind of traffic for the answerer. If traffic is not generated, then positive karma is added to the responder. Hence, people look to those with high post counts for advice because it is assumed that these people are the most helpful people (but this is not always the case. Sometimes there's an "ego" problem with these high post count people.)

Back to the point.  ;D

In terms of success, it must be easy to understand and it must benefit those who participate. Developing a model around those two lines of thought will aid your effort. And my response to you has helped me in my effort, i.e., building up my directory. In a perfect world, everyone involved benefits.

Are you using firefox? I don't know what's happening. Some people have problems, others don't. I wonder if it's an issues with the directory software..

I updated the directory software to the latest version, and I changed the theme.
