After using webinstall, my forum works fine on 1.1, but i've got a problem with my tiny Portal....i cant use it anymore....
the folowing error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tportal_version() in /home/westmcom/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1724) : eval()'d code on line 419

it should probaply be something simple, but i cant find the solution.....

Please ask your question at TP.  We don't provide support for TP on the SMF forums.

Elmacik, try checking the FTP server name. There would (likely) be a different error message if there was a problem in one of the other fields.

Elmacik

Motoko-chan, for the server name I tried these:
localhost
ftp.domain.com
ftp://localhost
ftp://ftp.domain.com

The same result.
In my opinion there is something wrong with the relativity of the path.
I think webinstall.php should use abaolute paths rather than relative ones.

If it can't connect, then the path doesn't matter. It is possible that the host has restricted the use of FTP from their server.

Man how easy was that!!!  upload, point and click and it's all done for you!

Well done guys, that takes all the hassle out of updating! 8) 8)

Elmacik

Motoko-chan, with the same combinations I can connect to FTP using any client including DOS.
I can also connect to FTP by active scripts. SMF can also connect to FTP when needed while setting up.

??? it will be cool if it isn't make one way for hacker to may web ( may be they use webinstall.php to update some thing .. :-X) ...all thing may be possible

Dorte

dacminhm, you don't leave the webinstall online after you're done, you delete it. Just like before with files like upgrade.php and stuff. So unless the hackers use those few minutes where you're updating the software, they won't have a chance to use webinstall against you.

I like the thing, it's a great idea! Good work!

Jacen

I used this without trouble about 5 or 6 times... The only problem I had is the upgrade script did not delete itself or webinstall.php. Install.php did

So why is  it not letting me log in with my ftp details then?  I really want to upgrade my forum but don't want to mess up so can somebody tell me what is wrong!

Jacen

Try using "localhost" instead of your FTP host address.... 9 times out of 10, localhost will work.

Is it possible to make it work with offline installations in Windows (using xampp and WinXP)?

It works in local installations, but you'll still need to be connected to the internet, as the script connect to the SMF server to download the files.

Just did an upgrade from 1.0.8 to 1.1 - completed without errors.

my first post, telling everyone that I've upgraded the forum gave this error...

QuoteUnknown column 'mem.notifySendBody' in 'field list'
File: /home/windandwheuk/public_html/wawf/Sources/Post.php
Line: 1922

When I checked, the p0st has been made... What do I need to do?

(edit V#)

Ooops! Admin can you move this post please - I did not use Webinstall, but a manual upload.

Update....

Clicking a users name gives

QuoteUnknown column 'mem.notifySendBody' in 'field list'
File: /home/windandwheuk/public_html/wawf/Sources/Load.php
Line: 888

amiga, please search before posting.  There are plenty of threads about the copyright error after upgrading.

Are you able to login to your FTP with the EXACT same details (Cept the host)?

clactongirl2002

Yeah I use SmartFTP Client and have no problems logging in with the exact same details
