I currently have SMF 1.1.2 on my main forum. I have another forum running vBulletin 3.6.6 which I would like to convert to SMF and integrate into a new subforum on my SMF board without having to start from scratch.

Is this possible? How?

Did you read the sticky in the Converters and Importers board?:

Thanks but none of those links answer my question directly. I have a good idea as to how to convert from another board but what I want to know and cant find the answer to is if I can convert and integrate a vbulletin forum into an existing SMF forum and how.

what type of integration are we talking?  SMF has a good number of integration hooks and such but without a bit more details, its hard to talk specifics.

I'll be in bed shortly, but let us know what you're looking for, maybe we can figure it out :)

My main forum is SMF 1.1.2 and has around 150,000 posts and 1000 members. I love SMF.

There is another vBulletin forum hosted on a different server with around 25,000 posts which i would like to merge/integrate/import (however you want to say it) with my main SMF forum, and form a new subforum for all the imported content. At least that's my hope. Whether that's possible or not I dont know but that's why Im here.

The vBulletin hosted forum had several subforums and around 400 members. I would prefer to only import the topics and posts and not the members. Im sure Im not the first to come across this issue but I have not been able to find an answer yet via searching. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any details that Im leaving out?

Ah, see i was misunderstanding what you were asking.

There ARE a couple of merge scripts floating around out there (from what i'm told -- i haven't actually found one :()  And i do know that someone on the team is currently working on one, which is still in beta testing.

But as of yet, there is no real way to merge two forums together.  I *will* post back here though *if* i do find anything or hear anything though.

Sorry :(

I would not recommend it until an official tool is out that is confirmed working well on all installations. I tried this once and it can potentially corrupt your database. Not worth it.
