La prima bozza di traduzione è stata inviata a chi di dovere, si tratta di attendere l' uso che se ne farà ...

Ovviamente senza aver avuto la possibilità di testare la traduzione su un SMF funzionante molte cose sono tradotte letteralmente e verranno modificate in seguito in base al contesto.

Le cose più opinabili:
Child Board ----> Board Appendice, mi sembra buona ( Board Figlia  :-X )
Parent Board ----> Board Principale

ho ritenuto di poter tradurre Topic come si fa in altri software ( es. PhpNuke ) con Argomento, ma mi sembra che in alcuni casi stoni veramente ( Oggetto dell' Argomento ?, blah bisogna analizzare caso per caso ) .

Did you make use of this? www.yabbse.org/community has an italian language environment online. You can register there, change your language to italian and check some words. Of course in the SMF language file there are new options which are not yet there, but a lot you will find there. You can also download the italian.lng file for yabb se on www.yabbse.org/download.php. Many text is already translated in there.

However, it is important that you not assume that just because the same thing was in the YaBB SE language file it means the same thing.  Many strings were changed very slightly, and even those subtle changes are important.

The problem is another ( in fact i've got no problem ).

I have already  the possible translation and more of the SMF terms. Simply some words were never translated in SE ( or Gold ). This is a decision that can be taked only between italian user: should we translate the words never translated ( and how ), or the old way is good ?

frankly I would take the first chance, but if there's no other italian user, who decide ?
I' m not berlusconi to decide by myself.

edit: i've not copied nobody's language file, what i've sended was brand new. as i've wrote in the mail if you give me a functional SMF, I'll give you the perfect translation, till then there will be ( or not, maybe ) some little context errors ( which are indipendent by the quality of my job ).

I understand that... I was just commenting on what Andrea said.

Bè Topic direi che si può lasciare così... è molto usato lo stesso...  ;D

Piuttosto... è privista anche una traduzione per lo "Spell Check" ?  8)

jami

eh, i file di linguaggio vengono inviati a trance, per ora non ho visto un bel po' di termini, come ad esempio spell check, che chiamerei correzione ortografica.

spell check ... una funzione veramente molto utile.

allora rimarrei così ( ho già sentito altri pareri contrari alla traduzione di tutti i termini) :
topic rimane topic. post ovviamente pure.

Somebody needed to double check italian texts entered into my button translator. Who would cross check these texts for correct translation, typos etc.?

Hi Andrea :)
OK, let me know "how to" help you and i'll be glad to help you in checking these buttons and texts  ;) Bye! Fabio

jami

Giusto :)

Sorry cannot participate in italian in that discussion. And not sure if understanding every word - my italian is a little out of practice.  I have understood some discussion goes about how far translations should go. Funny is that a similar discussion exists also among german language users. Some people say that not one single english word must stay and who even translage words like "login", "logout", "password", "online" etc. . Such words however are today a well known vocabulary in "computer german". Simply everybody knows and uses these words (and some more). And for my personal giusto there is no worse german than those horrible german translations which you sometimes find in german operating systems where every single word has been obsessively translated...

Of course in italian language everything might be different than in german language... And of course the decision how far the italian translation goes is up to the native italian speakers.  :)

Quando sarà disponibile la traduzione in italiano ? 8)

una volta trascorso il tempo fisico per farla ( come già sottolineato, per i più frettolosi è sempre possibile farsene una custom )
