Annoyoums User Online

I need to know, whether it is possible to show annoyoums users online (Guest ) Online in SMF/

I saw in my friends V bullitin, he just launched the site, and it showed 300 guests online/

We were surprised for an moment, and we had an enquiry and finally got the result that it is done through some conding work to show annoymous guests online ( All Fake )

Is it possible here,

Why you wanna show fake guests?

Remove that code from boardindex.template and write directly there : 234 567 GUESTS and 9998709870987 users online.

While it's ultimately up to you if you think you can drum up interest in your board by faking activity (something that's anathema to me!), I'd suggest that an obvious disparity between the number of users online and other stats such as the number of registered members (like why haven't some of those guests joined?), posts etc. is going to look very fishy!

it won't look great!  but is there any way to bring that in SMF!

there is an code in VB that randomly displays the online guests!


as owdy said, that would be visible all the time and as same with no change at all!

but this one in VB randomly displays certain varilables, whenever an guest is online/

my friend sid it won't show up the same number, coz it keeps tracks of cookies too.


I donot need this, coz it won't  look nice, but was willing to know whether is there a wau in SMF too/

Of course theres a way, just put some code in that generates a random number.

It's clearly a stupid idea though and I doubt anyone will waste their time telling you how to do it, but it would be easy.
