Private Messaging Enhancements

1. Default to sort last received/read to top and remove this option from settings.
2. Have the following categories and sub-categories:
a. Sent
a-1. Read
a-2. Unread
b. Received
b-1 Read
b-2 Unread
c. Filed
c-1. Custom Folder Name 1
c-2. Custom Folder Name 2
etc...
3. Provide function to "File" Sent and Received private messages to a folder of the user's design, under Filed. Labels are not intuitive, folders are.
4. Provide function to create a custom folder name under the Filed private message category.
5. Provide a list of private messages in each category (much like forum topic lists) instead of a message list (much like a topic posting list), with links or icons to view, modify, delete, forward, duplicate (new from).
6. Make the "Find members" link open in a resizable window or test with FireFox, not just Internet Explorer.
7. Allow for multiple selections from the member search list.

Well instead to open a new thread I'll use this one because it contains similar suggestions.

There are 2 things in the message system I really miss.

1. Archive
Something like an archive for really important messages (it's is annoying to search through more than 100 messages to find one special message) - means Inbox - Outbox - Archive

2. marking of new messages
It's hard to find out which messages are new if you forget to take a look at how many new messages you have, because there is no sign for new messages. I know this is because all messages on that page are already open, but especially as admin you often have lots of new messages and its not so good to miss a new one.

- Indeed, that would be a great enhancement. Like being able to create new folders for your PMs, so that you can sort them yourself. Maybe even being able to set certain pruning-options for each folder.
Ex: Folder1 removes all messages that are 7 days old, Folder2 never removes any messages and Folder3 removes all messages tagged "[grade1];[grade2]" when 14 days old. With these custom folders, it would not be hard to add a "drafts"-folder as well, where you could store an unfinished PM.

- Agreed. I don't mind having many messages on the same page, but it should be obvious which messages are new and which ones are not, not to mention which one you have selected to read.
