Recent Unread Topics clone for last day's posts

I've searched around for this, and found a few mods, including one from the ubiquitous Herr Oldiesmann, which gives the number of posts in the last 24 hours; however, what my users are requesting (because I had coded a version on the old phpBB version of our forum that did this) is a menu function that shows a neat, tidy list, such as the Recent Unread Topics (action=unread) screen does of the last day's topics/posts.

The difference would be that instead of showing unread posts, arranged by topic, it would show--in the same format as Recent Unread Topics--all posts on visible boards in the last 24 hours, most recent at the top.

I've trolled through Recent.php, but as this is *real* code, and not some hacked together crap like *I'd* come up with    I'd much rather ask for pointers and/or a modification as opposed to spending a week drowning in function UnreadTopics().

Any assistance would be most appreciated.
