uploading mods

hi all, im having some problem well not having problems just need some help ASAP plz;
see ni just changed from phpb2 foorums to SMF but i set my forum up with adding some themes to it with no problem, but i want to change the order of the boards this maybe a newb question, and i have download some mods in .ZIP format and i was wandering do i need to extract each mod and then just upload it to public_html/forum/packages................?

You don't need a mod to change the order that the boards appear.
Admin > Boards
And then click on "move" and move the board in the palce you want it to go in.
