Merge double posts

The preceding modification merges double posts. I would like to see this a default feature in SMF. One thing to note specifically about this mod however, is that it still shows posts as new. This way, posts are merged into one post, but still shown as new (for things like bumping a topic). I have had many troubles in the past with users replying themselves, whether to add more information, or to increase post-count. In either case, I do not like double-posts on my forum. I think adding this as a default feature would do a lot of good.

No, I am afraid not. The description pretty clearly only describes the purpose of the mod so that it will allow you to merge two consecutive posts a user made into one.

As for Visualcode's request, even though it is old, I will comment on this because of liberte bumping it. Personally I think this is better as a mod. It doesn't seem too hard to just copy the content of the second post, delete the post, and paste it into the first post. Sure some forums that experience such a double post problem a lot could have a lot of use for this as it may end up saving a lot of time, but I would think most forums probably wouldn't use this that often.
